jet set closet: fashion weekend outfit ideas and my tiny, tiny budget
Mmmkay, so I'd obviously like to put some awesome looks together for Fashion Weekend but I'm a little stressed about it since my wardrobe budget isn't exactly what I'd like it to be right now. Or, um, existent. My fashion budget is practically non-existent at the moment. I can't tell you how much that sucks but it is what it is and I'm all for being honest. So I'll have to get a little creative, shop my own closet and stick to lower priced shops for any pieces I need to pick up. I'm thinking H&M and Target. If I had a bit more money to play with, my first stop would be Nordstrom Rack or the Outnet.com. And if I had my dream-world trust fund backing me up (or, you know, a better paying job), I'd be at the nearest Barneys this weekend or check out Max in Cherry Creek. But it's ok! I'm super thankful that I already have some amazing accessories and it's easier to get cute clothing at a range of price points.
Here are some pieces and looks I'm digging. I should warn you that I have a habit of falling for a look or trend, only to try it on and decide that I like it much better on other (usually cooler) people, so I don't know which of these I'll actually go with. For some reason, I am all about the high-waisted skirt/crop top look. Especially the leather combo below from ASOS. I think my next favorite is the skirt and graphic tee look from H&M.
Love the leather and the length of this skirt. ASOS $56.46.
I love this general outfit idea - and the top! ASOS
I'm mildly obsessed with this dress. H&M $17.95!
LOVE this whole look. H&M
I'll definitely have to work in a graphic tee one night. H&M
So the second night of Fashion Weekend features local designers and boutiques, most of which I'm not very familiar with yet. But I'll make some time this weekend to do some homework, check out the lineup and I'll put together a pre event roundup for you guys. I'm hoping I find a new favorite or two!
