fashion radar. mid-february edition
Ok, so let's file this one under "unlimited budget shopping list". As in, I would buy this in a heartbeat if I didn't have to be picky about how I spend my fashion $$, because I think it is just awesome. I was wasting time on Saks' website this morning when I saw this bag from Prada's spring runway show. All of a sudden, I feel like I need a bag with a face on it.

But you know what? Sometimes I wonder if the fashion gods conspire to bring everything similar to the public consciousness at the same time. Maybe that's kind of a clueless thought for a supposed lover of fashion, but often I'll find myself drawn to a certain item or wanting something specific (without being able to find it) and then all of a sudden, those things and others like them are everywhere! Has anyone else noticed that or is it just me?
Case in point, I recently joined instagram (I'm jetsetheart there, too) and I've been following an artist named Boyarde. She paints images similar to what's on the Prada, on designer bags. I've seen her work on Hermes, Goyard, Louis Vuitton and others. There was even an article on her work in the Daily Mail. I thought her work was so interesting and was even contemplating ordering an LV Neverful to be customized by her (I'm not normally into LV for myself but this art would make it work), so I followed her to keep up with her designs. Then boom, a couple of months later, here's this Prada bag.
Here are a few Boyarde sample pics, pulled from Boyarde's blog and the Daily Mail article:
